Trim the raw edge of the carpet with a carpet cutter to remove any loose fibers and create a clean edge. Take the damaged piece that you cut out over to your donor carpet area. Using a sharp pair of scissors like manicure scissors or even a nail clipper carefully trim the stained ends.
